Ever needed a specific texture or image to tile and not show any joins? Always get stuck at how to make it from that perfect image you have found on the internet or in your old photos folder on your desktop?
Here is a technique that I find works wonders
- Find the photo you want to tile and create a new, blank canvas 4 times its size.
- Copy the photo onto this new canvas and position in the top right of the canvas.
- Copy the photo and flip vertically and position directly underneath your first section so that it is in the bottom right.
- Merge the top right and bottom right images together and duplicate them.
- Flip your duplicated layer horizontally and position on the left of the canvas.
- Add a bit of gaussian blur or adjust the levels, resize and you have one tile ready to be tiled!
